Averett University Athletics

Norma L. Roady served as a coach and physical education instructor at Averett University for more than 30 years. Roady was a much-loved coach of the women's basketball team and field hockey team.

During her tenure at Averett, Roady served as the coordinator for the division of physical education and held the department's chair position for nine years.

Roady was inducted into the Averett Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 13, 2000.

Roady passed away on March 1, 2009, at the age of 82.
