PHOTOS & MORE: 2020-21 Averett Athletics Night of Champions recap

Averett University's Department of Athletics celebrated its 2020-21 Night of Champions on Monday, April 26, in a socially distant awards ceremony held at the Grant Center. 

Averett recognized its men's wrestling and volleyball teams for their banner seasons.

Averett also inducted the following student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma.

• Courtney DeLone, women's lacrosse
• Morgan Jones, cheerleading
• Zamyiah Mangum, volleyball/softball
• Patrick Miller, men's soccer
• Oliver Ruff, esports
• Samuli Salo, esports
• Zachary Spradlin, esports
• Thomas Woodcock, men's tennis

Averett honored the male and female student-athletes with the top GPAs in the sophomore, junior and senior classes.

Averett selected the male and female athletes of the year for each academic class. This award is based strictly on athletics accomplishments.

Averett awarded its three major awards, the Dr. Frank Campbell Sportsmanship Award, the Dr. Tommy Foster Male Student-Athlete of the Year and the Barbara Kushubar Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
