FOOTBALL GAME DAY 101: A fan's guide to Averett football's home game vs. Methodist

The Averett University football team opens USA South Conference play against Methodist University on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. at Daly Field. Here's what you need to know if you are coming to the game:

TICKETS
(Gates open at 4:30 p.m.)
• Adults...................................................$5
• Senior Citizens......................................$3
• Students (Ages 12 and up).....................$3
• Kids under 12................................. FREE
• AU Faculty/Staff/Students.................FREE*
*Must show Averett ID Card

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
• Averett's football complex is located on the university's North Campus at 707 Mount Cross Road.

PARKING
• There are designated parking areas for Averett football games. Tailgaters will be directed to a specific area and non-tailgaters will be directed to a different area.

TAILGATE
(Parking lot opens at 3 p.m.)
• Kids Bounce House sponsored by Big Sky Rentals
• Woodall Auto Mall will have cars on display in Tailgate Alley
• Pictures with Averett mascots
• Cougar Walk (4 p.m.) - A tradition featuring the Averett football team

TAILGATE & STADIUM RULES
• No alcohol under the age of 21 (must have ID proof of age)
• No glass containers
• No smoking, pets or outside food or drinks allowed inside the stadium
• All tailgaters should clean up their own area
• Consumption of alcohol must cease by the start of the second half
• Alcohol is only allowed in the parking lot
• Be loud. Be proud. Be positive.

AT THE GAME
(Game starts at 6 p.m.)
• Bring chairs/blankets (open seating)
• Concessions featuring Chick-fil-A, Domino's and Coca-Cola
• Person High School Marching Band
• Halftime contest with prizes
• 50/50 raffle

NEW THIS SEASON
• Concessions will now be located on the home side of the field to the right of the field house in order to accommodate fans
• Averett apparel and accessories will be available at the front gate. Athletics has also teamed up with the Averett bookstore to give fans an even bigger variety of goodies to purchase (tents, flags, umbrellas, hats, jackets, shirts and more!)
• Averett Athletics is excited to partner with Bon Appetit for Ave & Rett's Cat-Eye Grill. Food will be available for fans to purchase before the game, and Averett students can now use "swipes" from their meal plan to get food while also being able to enjoy the football game. They will no longer have to worry about missing lunch or dinner at main campus to attend home football games at North Campus. Bon Appetit will serve food three hours prior to game time and will close at the start of the game.
• For the first time, fans will be able to make purchases at the main concessions trailer and at the Averett gear tent using credit cards. There is a minimum purchase requirement of $5 to use a credit card.
