Averett men's soccer freshman Adil Iich was named the USA South Conference's Rookie of the Week on Monday. The forward from Sodertalje, Sweden, helped the Cougars to a 1-1 record last week versus USA South competition with two goals and one assist for five points. In a 3-1 loss at Ferrum College last Wednesday, Iich assisted on the team's only goal of the match which, at the time, tied the game. In a 2-0 victory over N.C. Wesleyan College on Saturday, Iich tallied the only two scores of the match. The first, in the third minute, was the eventual game-winner.
