Football junior running back Sean Bowman was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and selected as the USA South Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Bowman, a native of Creedmoor, North Carolina, had a career day in Averett's 35-6 win over Methodist University last Saturday. Bowman rushed for 227 yards on 36 carries and five touchdowns — all career-highs. The 36 rushing attempts were also a program single-game record. He averaged 6.3 yards per attempt, and he broke off a 54-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. which was the long carry of the night.
