The Dr. Tommy Foster Male Student-Athlete of the Year Award was given to senior men's basketball player Paul Porter. The Roanoke, Va., native finished off a stellar career by finishing among the leaders in program history while helping the Cougars finish second in the USA South Conference. Porter finished as Averett's all-time leading offense rebounder with 342 boards and second all-time in total rebounds with 697. He also finished his career in the top 25 in scoring. This year, Porter was named to the USA South Conference All-Sportsmanship Team, and off the court he served as an orientation leader and a resident advisor while earning a 3.8 GPA last semester.
