Men's wrestling sophomore Brandon Woody claimed the title at 141 pounds by collecting three decisions and a pin at Jim Crytzer Invitational on Jan. 5. After an opening round 5-1 decision, Woody pinned Tanner Harris of West Virginia Tech University in the second period of the quarterfinals to move onto the semifinal round. Here, Woody used four takedowns to pace himself to the 9-3 decision over Logan Robertson of West Virginia Tech. In the championship bout the Chesterfield, Virginia, native only scored three takedowns but added a reversal to preserve the 9-4 victory against Mario Vasquez of Ferrum College. Woody runs his win streak to 10 and his record to 25-4.
