Football senior Conner Showalter collected USA South Conference Defensive Player of the Week and D3football.com Team of the Week accolades this week following Averett's 35-12 win at Ferrum College. Showalter, a native of Cameron, North Carolina, recorded seven total tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, with two interceptions. Both of Showalter's interceptions came inside Averett territory, stopping potential scoring drives in their tracks.
