Men's wrestling freshman Carter Shupert was one of two Cougars to earn ODAC Wrestler of the Week honors on Dec. 11. Shupert, a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, went 4-0 at 149 pounds while wrestling with Averett's A Team in the Cougar Duals on Saturday. Averett's A Team went 4-0 as a team to share co-champion honors with Averett's B Team, which also went 4-0 in the Cougar Duals. Shupert opened the day with a win by fall (2:02) over Patrick & Henry Community College's Tyler Harris, then defeated Saint Andrews University's James Roberts by a 19-4 tech fall (4:00). Shupert then earned a 9-3 decision over Division II Belmont Abbey College's William Nix and finished the day with a win by fall (1:14) over Ferrum College's Jordan Nutter.
