Women's tennis freshman Jennika Jaison was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Player of the Week on April 1. Jaison, who is from Mumbai, India, helped Averett (8-4, 5-0 ODAC) to a 2-0 week that included an ODAC victory plus a 5-4 team win over Gustavus Adolphus, the 48th-ranked team in Division III. Jaison teamed with Brenda Poulakidas at No. 2 doubles in both matches and took part in singles play from the top flight against each opponent. Against GAC, Jaison and Poulakidas posted an 8-7 (7-0) triumph over Kaya De Bruijn and Bethany Smith. Jaison added a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Allison Szalay in singles action. In an 8-1 team win over Virginia Wesleyan, Jaison and Poulakidas won, 8-4, over Mikisha Thomas and Shannon Lewes in their doubles match. Jaison topped Tuva Flink, 6-0, 6-1, in singles play.
