Averett women's tennis freshman Suvi Salminen was named the USA South Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday. Salminen, a native of Aanekoski, Finland, earned a 3-0 record at the No. 1 singles and doubles spots last week versus USA South competition. In singles play, Salminen collected her wins over a opponents from Greensboro, Mary Baldwin and Piedmont. In doubles, Salminen earned her victories by teaming with Morgan Epstein.
