Averett women's soccer senior Sandra Johansson was named the USA South Conference Player of the Week. The midfielder from Gothenburg, Sweden, tallied four goals and one assist for nine points in a 2-0 week for the Cougars. In a 1-0 win over USA South foe Methodist University on Friday, Johansson scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 13th minute. In a 7-0 non-conference victory over Chowan University, Johansson notched a hat trick by scoring three goals while also assisting on the match's first and eventual game-winning goal in the second minute.
