DANVILLE, Va. — Averett's Homecoming game was spoiled by a 29-0 N.C. Wesleyan College win on Saturday at the Cougar Den.
Averett (1-3, 0-1 USA South) struggled offensively for most of the day and had trouble stopping the Battling Bishops' rushing attack. N.C. Wesleyan (1-3, 1-0 USA South) controlled the game by totaling 269 yards on the ground, including 131 yards from Jacques Alston and 119 yards and a touchdown from Jamal Smith.
