FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Averett University set a school record with 99 USA South Academic All-Conference selections for the 2012-13 year, the conference announced on Friday.

Averett's 99 academic all-conference selections topped last year's mark of 94, which had been the highest total since the conference instituted the program in 2002-03.

A student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 GPA in each of the two semesters of a given year to be eligible. Any student-athlete participating in any varsity sport at any Conference institution is eligible. The sport does not have to be a Conference-sponsored sport.This season, 1,155 student-athletes earned USA South Academic All-Conference honors.
