The Averett women's soccer team, seeded eighth, travels to play No. 1 seed Meredith College in Saturday's USA South Conference Tournament quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Cougars (5-12, 5-7 USA South) are coming off a 3-0 home win over William Peace University in their regular season finale on Wednesday. Meredith (12-4-1, 10-1-1 USA South) earned a draw in its last regular season game. The Avenging Angels edged Averett 3-0 in their regular season meeting at Averett on Oct. 18.

The winner advances to the Nov. 7 tournament semifinals, where it will play the winner between No. 4 seed Maryville College and No. 5 seed Greensboro College.
