The Averett University baseball team, which received votes in two national polls this week, travels to play a 3 p.m. conference doubleheader at Piedmont College to open a three-game road series this weekend.

Averett (16-6, 11-4 USA South) received votes in both the D3Baseball.com Top 25 and the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Top 30. The Cougars are coming off a win at Lynchburg College on Wednesday.
