The Averett University baseball team, which received votes in two national polls this week, plays Piedmont College on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the final game of their three-game series.

Averett (17-7, 12-5 USA South) received votes in both the D3Baseball.com Top 25 and the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Top 30. The Cougars fominated Piedmont 16-1 in eight innings, but then fell short 5-4 to split a doubleheader in the first two games of the series on Saturday.
