ATLANTA, Ga. — Averett University softball again knocked off No. 3 DePauw University for the second consecutive day. The Cougars rolled to a 6-1 victory over the nationally ranked Tigers Sunday at Emory University's 3n2 Invitational.
Averett (2-1) was scheduled to play host Emory, but the game against the 18th-ranked Eagles was canceled due to a traumatic leg injury to an Emory player during its game with DePauw Sunday morning.

Smith gave Averett a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a leadoff solo home run to center field. The Cougars tacked on three more runs in the fifth. Junior

Andrea Grant added an RBI single and freshman
Essence Pulliam had a sacrifice fly to score senior

DePauw's lone run came in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch with two outs.
