LYNCHBURG, Va. —Senior
Amanda Gustavsson scored the ultimate game-winning goal in the 89th minute for the Averett University women's soccer team to produce a 2-1 win over Randolph College on Wednesday night at Wildcat Stadium.

Amanda Gustavsson fired a shot which deflected off of a teammates back, Gustavsson collected the deflection and shot past the goalie into the back of the net. Early on,  Averett (2-1-1) gained a 1-0 lead in front of the Wildcats when Gustavsson scored her first goal of the year at the 26:23 mark.
Randolph (1-2-1) managed to tie the game early in the second half from a notch by Hunter Robinson. Although the Wildcats took 14 shots with nine on goal, Randolph failed to get another shot past goalkeeper
Bailee Brown, who completed the game with seven saves.
Averett returns to acion at home on Sept. 16 when they face Southern Virginia Universtiy at 6 p.m. in non-conference action.
