LEXINGTON, Va. – The Averett University women's soccer team fell 6-0 to Washington and Lee University on Sunday afternoon at Watt Field.

Washington and Lee (2-2-1) gained a 4-0 lead by halftime after scoring a quick goal less than three minutes into play and later the fourth goal at the 10:19 mark. Averett (2-2-2) effectively held them off for the remainder of the half, but the Generals came out in the second period to make two consecutive goals. Averett junior goalkeeper Bailee Brown finished the afternoon with 12 saves.

The Cougars will have a week off from play and will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. against non-conference Pfeiffer University.
