MISENHEIMER, N.C. — The Averett University women's soccer team had their two game win streak come to an end as the Cougars fell 3-0 at Pfeiffer on Tuesday night.
 
After the whistle blew to start the match, Pfeiffer jumped right into the attack as the Falcons recorded a corner and a shot in the second minute of play. Averett would respond with a shot on goal in the eighth minute off the foot of junior Kirsten Clancy that was saved by the Pfeiffer keeper. From here, the Falcons created the majority of the scoring chances throughout the rest of the half and broke the scoreless tie by collecting goals in the 31st and 42nd minutes of play to take a 2-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
 
Out of the break in action, it did not take long for Pfeiffer to extend their lead to three as the Falcons tallied a goal in the 47th minute. Pfeiffer's back line kept the Averett attack out of rhythm for the duration of the match as the Cougars mustered up three corners and two shots in the second half that they unfortunately could not convert on. The Falcons went on their way to secure the 3-0 victory.
 
Senior Bailee Brown made 11 saves in net during the effort. 
 
Averett returns home for Senior Day on Saturday when the Cougars host Methodist University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
