The Series: Averett is 5-7 all-time against Longwood, formerly a Division III school, dating back to the 1976-77 season (Note: This does record not include Longwood's 79-53 win over Averett on Nov. 14, 2014, which was an exhibition for the Cougars but the season opener for Longwood). Longwood won the last meeting, 86-67, on Dec. 14, 2016, in Farmville. Averett is 2-7 in road games at Longwood, including that meeting in 2014 that was only an exhibition for the Cougars.

Junior Timothy Henry had a career-high 18 points and junior Vince Contreras notched his second career double-double of 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. In that win, Averett outrebounded Pfeiffer 52-19 while setting season-highs in points (94), field goal percentage (56.1 percent), rebounds (52) and assists (18).
