The Averett University baseball team opens conference play with foe Greensboro College on Friday at Owen-Fulton Field. First pitch of Game 1 of the three-game series is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Averett (1-7, 0-0 USA South) is coming off a 4-2 loss to Eastern Mennonite University on Wednesday. Greensboro (2-2, 0-0 USA South) lost 13-8 to Pfeiffer University in its last outing. The two open the series Friday, and then play an 11 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
