BREVARD, N.C. — The Averett University women's soccer team drops their non-conference finale at Brevard College on Sunday, 2-0.

Heading into the halftime break, Brevard (5-2) possessed a 2-0 lead on the scoreboard. Averett (2-7) regrouped at the half and came out firing on all cylinders as the Cougars put two shots on goal and received two corners in the first five minutes of the second half. The Tornadoes were able to weather the storm and limit Averett's scoring chances the rest of the way as Brevard went on to win 2-0.

Brevard tallied both of their goals in the first seven minutes of the match. Megan Shina recorded her goal in the fifth minute while Ashley Hughes doubled the Tornado lead in the seventh minute of play. Both sides created chances throughout the duration of the opening frame but neither could capitalize on their opportunities as Brevard held their 2-0 advantage at the end of the first half.
