The Series: Huntingdon holds a 5-2 lead in the all-time series with the Cougars. Averett, however, won last year's meeting 45-18 in Danville. The Cougars' other win against the Hawks came in 2003 in Montgomery when the two teams met as non-conference foes.Â
Averett at a Glance:Â Averett is fresh off a 41-24 home win against N.C. Wesleyan College on Homecoming last Saturday. The Cougars' offense, which has 39 points a game this season, got big efforts from several players against the Bishops. Senior quarterback
Jacob Wright threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another, sophomore receiver
Chase Nixon caught six passes for a career-best 167 yards and three scores and senior running back
Joshua Tapscott broke the century mark with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Meanwhile, the Averett defense has continued to play well. Leading the nation with 28 sacks over six games, the Cougars have allowed just 14.8 points a contest. The Cougars will need both sides of the ball to play well in a battle of the USA South Conference's final two unbeaten teams in league play.

Otis Porter is his favorite receiver with 29 catches for 456 yards and nine touchdowns. Eric Thomas is one of the league's top rushers with 106.5 yards per game on the ground and eight rushing touchdowns.
