WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Averett University women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Salem College on Saturday in USA South Conference action.
Salem (6-4-1, 2-1 USA South) took a 1-0 advantage following a goal in the 13th, but the Cougars would battle to keep the Spirits off the board and keep the deficit at 1-0 heading into the half.
The Spirits added a goal in the 64th minute to extend their lead to 2-0 and added another goal in the 75
th minute to take a 3-0 edge over Averett (0-12, 0-3 USA South).
Salem added a final goal in the final minutes of action to take a commanding 4-0 lead over Averett.
The Cougars will be back in action Monday when they travel to Bridgewater College for a 4 p.m. meeting.
