FOLLOW LIVE: Volleyball hosts USA South semifinals; Cougars face Huntingdon at 6:30 p.m. Friday

  • USA South Conference Tournament Semifinals: West Division No. 1 seed Maryville College (25-6, 14-0 USA South) vs. East No. 2 seed Meredith College (20-8, 13-3 USA South)​​​​​​

  • Maryville at a Glance: The Scots rolled through a West Division that had only two teams finish with overall records above .500 this season. Maryville went a perfect 14-0 in conference play, helping longtime coach Kandis Schram earn USA South Coach of the Year honors. The Scots had a league-best three playerrs earn USA South First Team honors and four total all-conference selections. Maryville advanced to the semifinals by sweeping West No. 5 seed Berea College 3-0 on Tuesday.
  • Meredith at a Glance: The Avenging Angels had a strong campaign. Their only conference losses came twice to East Division champion Averett and once to William Peace University. Meredith, however, avenged the loss to the Pacers by beating East No. 3 seed William Peace 3-1 in Tuesday's quarterfinals. Meredith features USA South Libero of the Year Lauren Phillips and former Player of the Year Caroline Corey, who earned First Team All-Conference honors this season.

  • Averett at a Glance: Averett rallied from a tough start in non-conference play to find success within the conference schedule. The Cougars went 14-2 in conference play, losing only to William Peace University twice. Averett features Rookie of the Year Lauren Montren, as well as three other East Division all-conference performers. Averett advanced to the semifinals by taking down East No. 5 seed Greensboro College 3-1 in Tuesday's quarterfinals.
  • Huntingdon at a Glance: The Hawks lost only three times in conference play, including twice to West Division champ Maryville. The other loss was to Berea College. Huntingdon's lineup features the USA South Player of the Year in Amy Tyma, as well as three other West Division all-conference selections. The Hawks advanced to Friday's semifinals by beating West No. 3 seed Covenant College 3-0 on Tuesday.
