  • The Series: This will be Averett's first-ever meeting with Davis & Elkins. This will be the fourth meeting between Averett and Greensboro, as the Cougars are 1-2 against the Pride with all three previous duals being decided by three or fewer points.
  • Averett at a Glance: The Cougars enter the day 1-2 in dual competition so far this season. Most recently, Averett competed at the New Standard Invitational, where the team placed 10th as junior standouts Sam Braswell and Brandon Woody had career days. Braswell won the title at 125 and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler after knocking off the No. 4 and No. 7-ranked wrestlers in the nation, while Woody also beat the No. 8-ranked wrestler in the nation to place second place at 141 pounds.
  • Davis & Elkins at a Glance: The Senators are currently 1-2 in dual competition on the season. They are coming off the Bob Quade Cyclone Open, where they had four wrestlers place.
  • Greensboro at a Glance: The Pride is currently 0-3 on the year in dual competition. Greensboro most recently competed in the Messiah College Petrofes Invitational, where it had three wrestlers place.
