Averett at a Glance: Averett opened the season with two wins over three games at the Piedmont College Classic under first-year head coach
Natalie Ruechel. Averett last played on on Feb. 19 when the Cougars swept a doubleheader at home against Bluefield College. Averett won 4-1 before dominating the nightcap 13-4 in five innings. The Cougars were scheduled to play at the Triangle Classic last Saturday before the tournament was canceled due to inclement weather.
Berea at a Glance: Berea opened its season on Tuesday by splitting with Midway University. The Mountaineers lost the opener 9-5 before winning 5-4.
