DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis team opened spring with a 6-0 loss to Division II Lees-McRae College on Monday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.

Lees-McRae (4-4) took all three doubles matches from Averett (1-1) despite a battle at No. 2 doubles, where freshman Inka Zeilstra and Kristina Hedelt lost 8-6.

The Bobcats won three singles matches to clinch the win, while the other three singles matches went unfinished after the team result was decided.
