Women's soccer falls to N.C Wesleyan in USA South opener

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Averett University women's soccer team dropped fell 5-0 in its USA South Conference opener against N.C. Wesleyan College on Saturday. 
 
N.C Wesleyan (2-5, 1-0 USA South) benefitted from two first half goals by Sarah Cook and a goal by Megan Mackey to take a 3-0 edge over Averett into the half. 
 
Cook would later add a second half score to finish with a hat trick, while the Battling Bishop would tack on one final score to take a 5-0 lead over Averett (0-10, 0-0 USA South)
 
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday when they host 2018 USA South East Division Champion Greensboro College at 7 p.m.
