The Series: The Generals carry a slight 7-6 all-time series edge against the Cougars dating back to the first meeting in 2012. Since that time Washington and Lee has won six straight games over Averett including a 3-0 sweep of the Cougars a season ago. 
Averett at a Glance: The Cougars play host to Washington and Lee following a 7-2 season opening loss to Guilford College on the road Friday. Sophomore's Brandon Hatcher and Avery Spicer each recorded two hits apiece in the season opener.
