The Series vs. William Peace: Averett is 38-8 all-time against William Peace dating back to 1996. In their last meeting, Averett beat the Pacers 3-2 in the 2020-21 USA South Conference East Division Tournament championship match in Raleigh.
Averett at a Glance: Averett knocked off Southern Virginia University, which had been previously unbeaten in conference play this season, by a 3-1 score on Wednesday in Danville. The Cougars will look to carry that momentum into Friday's match as they return to the site where they won the championship in the spring.
William Peace at a Glance: The Pacers, coached by Averett Athletics Hall of Famer Nicole Barringer, were swept 3-0 by Virginia Wesleyan University on Thursday. Prior to that, William Peace had won two in a row after losing 3-0 to Southern Virginia on Sept. 25.
Noteworthy: Saturday's matchup was scheduled to be part of a USA South tri-match, but due to COVID-19 protocols, both teams' matches with Salem College were postponed. Averett has rescheduled its match with Salem for Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in Danville.
