The Event: The Cougars battle three Division I opponents on Saturday at the George Mason University Patriot duals. Averett opens against Bellarmine who is 1-1 on the year following a 40-3 and Indiana University and a 19-18 win over Southern Illionis University Edwardsville to begin the season. Both Bucknell and George Mason begin its dual seasons on Saturday.
Averett at a Glance: The Cougars opened dual action on Saturday following a second place finish at the Ned McGinley Invite last Saturday. Senior's Sam Braswell and Brandon Woody took home first-place podium finishes while junior Trent Ragland also captured first place hardware. Sophomore Alex Turley finished second overall and senior Joseph Jones knocked off a nationally ranked wrestler to finish fourth.
