DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's basketball canceled its exhibition against Division I Radford University on Jan. 1 following this week's schedule changes at Randolph-Macon College's Fink's Jewelers Coaches Tournament.
Averett plays Gettysburg College on Dec. 30 and is scheduled to face No. 2 Randolph-Macon on Dec. 31. The exhibition at Radford would have given Averett three road games in three days. Originally, Averett was scheduled to play Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 in Randolph-Macon's tournament, but after two opponents withdrew, the schedule was changed to a three-team, three-day event which didn't give Averett an extra day between the scheduled Radford game.
