GREENSBORO, N.C.
— The Averett University women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Greensboro College Saturday afternoon at Pride Field. The Pride scored one minute into overtime to take the hard fought victory.
Averett (0-2, 0-2 USA South) only created two shots on goal which both came in the first half from freshman
Clarice Peters and redshirt freshman
Quntasia Miller. Also, freshman goalie
Alyson Kinkopf had 10 saves in her second collegiate start.
Greensboro (3-0, 3-0 USA South) out shot Averett 24-3 putting 11 of those attempts on goal. Angela Niles notched the game winning goal in the first overtime for the Pride.
The Cougars are back in action when they host N.C. Wesleyan College on March 3rd for a noon kickoff.
