The Series: Averett is 12-8 all-time against Methodist, including a six-game win streak against the Monarchs. Last season, the Cougars won 43-7 in Danville on Nov. 16, 2019.
Averett at a Glance: Averett begins conference play coming off a season-opening 19-10 home loss to Brevard College last Saturday. The Cougars were originally scheduled to play N.C. Wesleyan College but that game was postponed three days prior to kickoff because of USA South Conference COVID-19 protocols, so the Cougars lined up a game with Brevard instead. Averett opened with a 10-0 lead by halftime before Brevard rallied in the second half.
