The Series: Methodist is 2-0 against Averett earning a 21-0 shutout win in the first ever meeting. In the second meeting the Cougars only fell 12-6 at home creating a more competitive matchup. Both of these teams have battled Oglethorpe University where each program earned one-point wins.
Averett at a Glance: In the season opener the Cougars set numerous school records in a 12-5 victory over Centenary. Averett is off to its best start in program history at 4-1 but have yet to play a conference game.
Methodist at a Glance: The Monarchs have started the year 2-2 earning wins over Randolph College and Oglethorpe University. One loss came in overtime to Ferrum 11-10 on the road.
