DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis program dropped a home match against Division II Shaw University 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.

Averett (2-2) saw senior Louise Hovhammar win at No. 1 singles in straight sets. In the final match of the day to finish, sophomore Nakia-Lee Goodall won a thrilling three set match, 4-6, 6-4, and 11-9 in the super tie breaker.

Shaw (1-2) took all three doubles matches.

The Cougars are back in action next Sunday when they host Sweet Briar College at 2 p.m.
