The Series: The Cougars are 6-24 all-time against the Monarchs dating back to the 1993 season. Averett's longest winning streak sits at six games where they had a stretch of wins over 2010-2013.
Averett at a Glance: Averett fell 4-0 at William Peace in the season opener and then lost a heartbreaker on the road against Greensboro in overtime. In the last outing the Cougars fell short 2-1 against N.C. Wesleyan College. More then half of the Cougar roster are freshman so head coach Meghan Mauzy-Fleming will look for many young players to step up this year.
Methodist at a Glance: The Monarchs tied in its season opener against Meredith College but then getting in the win column beating Pfeiffer University 3-1. Methodist has yet to have a home game making the trip to Danville their third straight road game.
