SALEM, Va. — The Averett University men's tennis program beat Roanoke College 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Elizabeth campus complex.
Roanoke (6-4) earned their two points in No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles.
Averett (10-5) picked up wins in doubles action from, senior
Thomas Woodcock and freshman
Josh Bottrell in No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Senior. The freshman duo of
Lasse Bonn an Philpp Bohenkamp won No. 3 doubles 8-4.
At No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No, 5 singles, senior
Stan Martherus, Woodcock, Sophomore
Evgeniy Bogdasaryan, and freshman
Aleki Gomez all won in straight sets, respectively. Bohenkamp won at No. 6 singles 4-6, 6-1, 1-0.
The Cougars begin the USA South Conference tournament at North Carolina Wesleyan, Saturday, at noon.
