RALEIGH, N.C. – The Averett University women's lacrosse team lost to Meredith College 24-1 in the USA South Conference East Division finals on Friday.
Meredith (10-3, 6-0 USA South) jumped out to a commanding 20-0 advantage at the half limiting the Cougars to just four first half shot attempts with three of those attempts landing on frame.
Averett (6-6, 4-2 USA South) broke its scoring drought in the second half on a free position goal by freshman
Raven Felder, but Meredith matched that with a late goal to earn the 24-1 victory.
