HOLLY SPRINGS N.C. — The Averett University men's lacrosse program dropped an away conference match 17-9 against William Peace University on Saturday night at Ting Park.
Averett (4-5, 0-4 USA South) was out shot by the Pacers 65-26 but had 13 more saves as a team as senior goal keeper Jacob Shriver earned 16 saves.
William Peace (3-7, 1-3) jumped out to an early 5-0 lead at the end of the first quarter creating 20 more shots then the Cougars.
Averett faced an 11-2 deficit headed into the locker room for halftime. Freshman
Liam Taylor lead the Cougars in points with five, scoring two goals and adding three assists. Senior
Nate Hann and junior
Parker Corbett also added two goals each.
The Cougars are back in action at Pfeiffer University, April 10th, at 1 p.m.
