MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Averett Univerity men's soccer team lost a 2-1 decision to Huntingdon College on the road Sunday in non-conference action.
Averett (4-5) got on the board in the opening minutes of the second half thanks to senior
Leevi Partanen's third goal of the season in the 51st minutes.
However, Huntingdon (3-4) tied the game with a goal in the 53rd minute and later took a 2-1 advantage with the game-winning goal in the 75th minute.
The Cougars finished with a 25-19 shot advantage with 17 shots on goal, forcing the Hawks to make 14 saves on the afternoon.
Averett returns home on Wednesday when it hosts Bridgewater College at 6 p.m. on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
