WESTMINSTER, Md. — No. 18 Averett University men's wrestling rolled to two wins Sunday afternoon over McDaniel College 33-13, and 53-0 against Waynesburg University. 

The Cougars in their last four matches before today have outscored teams 168-16 and added to that total today winning 86-13 in two matches. Averett now moves to 22-6 on the year in dual matches and are starting to peak on all cylinders before heading into the Southeast Conference Championship this upcoming weekend. 

In the first match against McDaniel, the Cougars won seven of the 10 matches. Which started with five in a row from the 125-157 weight classes. The No. 1 ranked wrestler at the 125 pound weight class, senior Sam Braswell, improved his perfect record on the year with two more wins. 

Averett tallied five pins throughout the two matches along with three tech falls and three major decisions. 

The Cougars are back in action Saturday, Feb. 5, when they host the Southeast Conference Championship beginning at 9 a.m. with the finals set for 6 p.m.
