FERRUM, Va. — Averett University volleyball made quick work of Ferrum College, sweeping the Panthers 3-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night. The Cougars won 25-20, 25-12 and 25-11.
Averett (12-7, 7-2 ODAC) beat Ferrum (6-15, 0-8 ODAC) for the 19th consecutive time and for the first time as ODAC conference opponents. After holding off the Panthers in the first set, Averett finished off Ferrum with a pair of strong sets to seal the road win.
The Cougars hit a whopping .514 for the match, committing only five attack errors the entire match.

Emma Nash led Averett with 12 kills and junior
Erin Gray had a team-high 10 digs for the Cougars. ODAC Player of the Week
Sarah Marlowe added eight kills, senior
Morgan Barnes had seven kills and five total blocks and freshman
Dayton Moore had 21 assists for Averett.
The Cougars helped give Averett first-year head coach
Olivia Earls a victory in her return to Ferrum, where she served as an assistant coach the previous two seasons before coming to Averett.
Averett, winner of three in a row, returns home to host Shenandoah University on Friday at 6 p.m.
