DANVILLE, Va. – The Averett University volleyball team topped Eastern Mennonite University 3-0 in the Grant Center on Saturday afternoon.
Averett (14-7, 9-2 ODAC) swept Eastern Mennonite (7-10, 4-6 ODAC) by scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-22.

Morgan Barnes lead the Cougar offence by cranking out 15 kills and hitting .700. Junior
Destiny McIntosh chipped in eight kills to go with a whopping .889 hitting percentage. Junior Kinlsey Stevens and freshman
Dayton Moore teamed up to hand out 35 assists in the outing. Junior
Erin Gray recorded 15 digs while sophomore
Carlie Deason recorded eight. As a team, the Cougars totaled nine blocks and hit .385.
Saturdays sweep is the fourth consecutive sweep for the Cougars and their fifth consecutive win.
Averett returns to action when it hosts University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, Oct 19 at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
