The Series: The Cougars are 3-3 all-time against Southern Virginia. Averett won last year's first meeting 77-55 at Southern Virginia on Feb. 5 but lost 80-74 in Danville on Feb. 17. Averett then knocked off Southern Virginia in the USA South Conference Tournament quarterfinals on its way to a championship.

The Cougars are coming off a 79-34 exhibition loss at Division I Radford University on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after edging Greensboro College 68-64 on the road Tuesday.
