Fleming notches 15 points in women's basketball's loss to Randolph-Macon

Box Score DANVILLE, Va. - The Averett University women's basketball team opened their home schedule with a tough 64-54 loss to conference opponent Randolph-Macon College on Saturday afternoon.

Averett (1-4, 0-2 ODAC) and Randolph-Macon (2-3, 1-0 ODAC) would exchange leads for most of the game. Averett would take a 32-28 lead into halftime. The Yellow Jackets would use a 36 point second-half to erase the Cougar lead, and going up by as much as 14 late in the second half.

Junior Kalie Fleming notched 15 points for Averett, Fleming also totaled four rebound and two steals. Freshmen Elisa Harris and Brianna Sams both chipped in seven points. Sophomore Olivia Gardner and junior Natija Pate brought down five rebounds a piece while freshman Rayanna Evans lead the team in steals with three.

As a team, the Cougars shot 31.3% while bringing down 31 rebounds.

Averett is back in action when it hosts Meredith College on Tuesday Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.  in the Grant Center.
