DANVILLE, Va. — Junior George Moseley capped off a dominant dual win with a pin as nationally ranked Averett University wrestling cruised to a 36-3 win over Roanoke College in the Cougars' regular season finale on Saturday night in the Grant Center.

While Moseley put the exclamation point on the win, the hype was around the final home matches for fifth-year seniors Sam Braswell and Brandon Woody, as well as Alex Turley, who is also graduating.

Braswell, who was named d3wrestle.com's Wrestler of the Week on Friday, remained undefeated this season with his 15-6 major decision victory over Roanoke's Mac Cafurello at 125 pounds. Braswell, who is ranked No. 2 in the nation by the d3wrestle.com in its Feb. 4 rankings, improved to 34-0 this season.

Woody, ranked as a contender at 141 by d3wrestle.com, wrestled at 149 on Saturday. He came away with an 8-3 decision over Jarrod Pominville.

Turley, an honorable mention selection in d3wrestle.com's rankings at 165, also put on a solid performance with an 8-0 major decision win over Jack Campbell.

Junior Kowan Lee and sophomore Jamar Christian started out the night for Averett with wins by decision at 184 and 197, respectively. Junior Billy Baldwin wrestled up at heavyweight, but still came away with a 10-2 major decision victory. Freshman Mason Barrett won by decision and freshman Jesse Alvarado won by fall (5:33). Moseley got the pin at 174 in 1:58 in the final match of the night.

Averett, which just won its first Southeast Wrestling Conference championship a week ago, turns its attention to the NCAA Southeast Regionals hosted by Lycoming College Feb. 25-26.
